Rafael Belchior is a researcher at INESC-ID (Distributed Systems Group) and Ph.D. student at Técnico Lisboa, where he lectures since 2018. Studying the intersection of blockchain interoperability and security, he participates in different open-source ecosystems, namely at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and Hyperledger Cactus. Rafael volunteers at Hyperledger as a mentor and advises master students at Técnico Lisboa. Participated in the European Commission projects Qualichain (decentralized identity), and DE4A. He worked at the Portuguese government, Linux Foundation, and Quant Network as a Blockchain Research and Development Engineer. Currently, Rafael is a Research and Development Blockchain Engineer at Blockdaemon.
